A 2- Day Fall Wedding Ceremony at Remsen Christian Church in Media, Intimate Reception at Richman Farms in Lodi and 2nd Casual Reception at Westfall Event Center in Valley View

When Allie and Ted first reached out to us, I thought for certain that there was a typo. Did they really mean to inquire about a THURSDAY? During our initial meeting they explained that they wanted to have their ceremony in a very private setting; about 40 of their closest family members in a small church and then over to her family’s farm in Lodi on Thursday. The big reception, a much more casual affair, would be held at Westfall Event Center in Valley View two days later. As you could probably guess… I was both intrigued and excited. I couldn’t wait to work these two visionaries!

Day 1: Thursday’s weather was a bit stuffy and warm, but still allowed us to head off to Allerdale Park after their intimate ceremony at Remsen Christian Church. As we walked grounds of the park, Allie explained to me that her great aunt and uncle once owned the land that Allerdale Park now sits on. Honestly, this has to be one of THE MOST beautiful Metroparks that I’ve been in (and I’ve been in a lot of them). The winding fields and trees were just beginning to turn into their rich red, orange and golden fall colors. The park made the perfect background for their photos with so much personal meaning behind it. Then it was off to the family farm for more photos and a delicious meal prepared by Coyne Catering!

Day 2: Much like the weather, Saturday’s event was completely different from Thursday’s. Lots more people, much more laid back, but still absolutely gorgeous. Ted’s Model A made an even appearance… but that still wasn’t as impressive as the gigantic archway and bench that Ted not only built, but brought and installed for photos to Westfall Event Center. For holding an “intimate” wedding day and a “casual” reception, this couple incorporated such unique and genuinely personal touches that were beyond anything we had ever seen before. Just splendid!
